We were directed by the Alachua Recreation Department to cancel all practices scheduled today, March 20th.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this late notice may have caused. The decision to cancel practices came late in the day after it was discovered the heavy rains had rendered the fields unsuitable for play.

PRACTICES WILL RESUME AS NORMAL after today. It is not customary for play to be cancelled - be it games or practices, due to rain. Please refer to AYSL's "Weather Policy" for more information. It is always best to ask your coach, when in doubt.

Spring is here! Let's Play... SOCCER! Spring 2018 Season Registration Now Open
Alachua Soccer 2018 Spring Registration Form.pdf (145.67 K)

Open practices for the Spring 2018 Soccer Season will begin on February 20th at the Hal Brady Recreation Center fields in Alachua. Season Registration and Fees are due by March 11th.

Open practices begin on Tuesday, February 20th. Practices are generally held two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) between the hours of 6 and 7 pm, unless otherwise noted by the team coach.

Players ages 4-14 years are welcome to join us on the fields for open practice. Find a team at the appropriate age level and play! Is your child interested in soccer or team sports? Just want to see what the Alachua Youth Soccer League is all about? Open practices are not only a great opportunity to get to know the players, coaches, parents and volunteers that make up the AYSL, but are also a place to have fun learning soccer basics, skills, and teamwork.

Season Registration and Fees are due by March 11th. Forms will be sent home with Alachua County School children within the next few weeks. Forms can also be obtained from the Hal Brady Rec Center. Or better yet, just click on the attachment link above, download, and print! Forms and fees can be submitted to the Rec Center or John Salbert (usually spotted strolling the fields in white polo).

Please feel free to email with any questions. We hope to see you and your player(s) on the field! Get outside, run, kick, strike, save, tackle, defend, and GO TO GOAL! We love soccer!

Weather Policy

Weather Policy

Weather in our area is notoriously fickle. It can be bright and sunny at home, and storming at the field, or vice versa. And it can be pouring 20 minutes before practice, and clear in time.

Such is life in Florida.

That said, we will not play soccer in lightening conditions. We may delay or cancel play. We may also cancel or delay play for extreme wind or storm conditions. We will likely play in light rain.

If inclement weather is expected, the best source of information is your team coach. They should have contact information and will have made team arrangements for how information will be distributed. It is very rare for all practices or an entire Saturday game schedule to require cancellation. We do not routinely post general information to the entire league except in very extreme conditions (such as a tropical storm).

So, how do I get to see my kid's team??

To view the pages for a particular team, you need a login ID, AND your login ID has to be associated with a member of that team. This is not quite the same as you joining the team.
**Change** Team homepages are available to everyone (including grandparents, friends, and neighbors...) upcoming events will be visible as soon as the schedules are loaded.

A team is made up of players, and each one can be associated with a login ID. The login ID is also associated with a person, who may or may not actually be part of a team.

If you only have one child, you can use either your name or your child's name for your login identification. In fact, if you use the same email address we have from your child's registration when you create your site login, you should automatically have that player associated with the login, and be able to see that team page.

If you have more than one child, things are a little more complicated (but if you have more than one child, you already knew that...). The simplest way to link a login with a player is from a player join invitation email. When you respond to such an email, and use the login you have already created (don't create a new one), the player is linked with your account. So how do you get an invite? Send an email from the contact us link with your child's name and team. If you request to join a team, we will try to match the email to a member of the team and send a player invite.

Still having problems? Send us an email and we'll straighten it out.
